I bought my first home in 2000. I did what you’re supposed to do — I hired a home inspector. What I didn’t know at the time was that the guy was cutting corners. He missed problems I only discovered later, after I’d gone through my own home inspection education and reinspected the place myself. That experience stuck with me. I said to myself: I’m not going to be that kind of inspector.

So in 2009, after selling a small business, I started JBR Inspections. Not because it was the safe bet, but because I genuinely wanted to do it right.
